The "Transition"
Flying cars are finally here and on the market. They are still
not open to the public but for a few select people, for $279,000, the "Transition" is up for
grabs.
The "Transition" was produced by a small firm in
Massachusettes. It has passed both FAA and NHTSA standards. The vehicle has one propeller
and a two seat cockpit that holds a steering wheel for the road and two flight
sticks, one for the pilot and one for the co-pilot. The flying car takes super
unleaded gas that you can find at any gas station and is small enough to fit
into a single car garage. The "Transition" takes only 30 seconds from car to
airplane and visa versa. However, this car is not designed for everyday use. It
still needs a small runway to get it flying and can only fly short distances. The driver/pilot needs a sport pilots license along with their regular drivers license to be able to drive the "Transition".
As for the general public, flying cars are nearly here! Engineers have been working for years getting the final touches on these incredible vehicles. They are planning to have affordable flying cars on the market within the decade so that everyone can have their very one flying car.
